The Austrian GP weekend has been one filled with rollercoasters. On the other hand, a civil war has been brewing inside Alpine. A glimpse of this rivalry was witnessed in Austria as Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly came together when the latter tried to make an overtake around his teammate, and was heard fuming with the subsequent actions.

In Monaco, F1 witnessed the breaking point between the Alpine lineup. The French duo came together on the first lap, and subsequent consequences followed. On the contrary, Pierre Gasly affirmed his decision to stay on with the French team. This further developed a rift between the duo and was witnessed at the Austrian GP.

Esteban Ocon pushed Gasly off the track, which left the latter frustrated.

The 28-year-old tried to make an overtake around the outside at turn three. He expected Ocon to leave him some room on the outside, which closed up too quickly. He then questioned why he ran him off the track as both the drivers were already in the top 10 and would have earned precious points for the team.

While the two tackled on track and spooled up a discussion regarding the violent pair, Gasly ultimately made the move on his compatriot and moved ahead of him. To celebrate this move, the Frenchman made a clever remark.

Gasly said “Ciao” over the radio while bidding goodbye to his teammate behind. Moreover, the fight also helped him assert dominance over his teammate, and claim a single point by finishing in P10.

Apart from this, havoc wrecked the race in Austria. Lando Norris and Max Verstappen battled each other fiercely, which ended in the clash of the two titans. Subsequently, George Russell inherited the lead and stormed to the chequered flag to secure his second career win.The Alpine duo finished P10 and P12, with Gasly attaining the bragging rights.
