F1 pundit Anthony Davis has shared his thoughts on Liam Lawson‘s 2024 stint with Visa Cash App RB starting from Austin onward. Lawson will drive for the Faenza-based team for the last six races after Daniel Ricciardo‘s recent sacking.
Liam Lawson has longed for a seat in Formula 1 ever since his initial runs for AlphaTauri (RB) last season. He filled in for an injured Daniel Ricciardo, impressing many with his strong runs. On the other hand, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has been at the receiving end of major backlash due to his poor outings this season.

Anthony Davis has claimed that Lawson must perform well in order to justify his promotion to the grid. The former says the New Zealand driver also has an opportunity to replace Sergio Perez if he surpasses the latter with his performances.
If you [Liam Lawson] don’t perform, Sergio carries on.

Perez has no option but to perform better in order to save his seat with Red Bull for the 2025 F1 season. The upcoming races will be a stern test for the Milton Keynes-based team to determine the Mexican’s future.
Helmut Marko enlists the possibility of Liam Lawson’s promotion to Red Bull
Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has been in high praise of Liam Lawson ever since his first outing at Zandvoort last year. Marko has cited the possibility of an early promotion for the 22-year-old next year.

The appearances of Bearman, and especially Colapinto, have shown that the youngsters are ready to step up, and that the old philosophy of some team bosses that only drivers with three or four years experience can be promoted to a top team, is outdated.

Helmut Marko has cited examples of Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman, who have been newly promoted to Formula 1. The 81-year-old clarified that young drivers should be given more emphasis to drive for top teams in the modern era.
Lawson will be living his dream when he races at Austin in RB overalls in three weeks time. The United States GP will be a defining moment in the 22-year-old’s career in Formula 1. It could help him in massively changing his career trajectory in the sport.
