The seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, is seen by many as one of the best in F1. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has been climbing up the ranks steadily and is also viewed as one of the all-time greats of the sport.
Amidst their ever-going debate of who is better, the Ex-F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has tried to tilt the balance of power in favor of Max Verstappen. The German believes that the 27-year-old is better at adapting to challenging situations.
Hamilton is certainly exceptional, but also needs a bit of the perfect environment and car, just like Sebastian Vettel. But Max Verstappen, what he has achieved this year in these circumstances – problems with Christian Horner, the departure of Adrian Newey. The car was superior in the beginning, then a disaster.

Looking at the reaction of Schumacher, he has emphasized the environment within a team. He genuinely feels that Verstappen is way better at handling challenging situations in comparison to Lewis Hamilton and also the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. During the 2024 season, Red Bull was under the pump for varied reasons but despite this, Verstappen managed to come out trumps in his on-track battles.
Max Verstappen is an ‘exceptional world champion’
Max Verstappen has been making his trade in F1 since 2015. He has gone on to hone his skills with each passing year and this is very evident from the way he has destroyed his teammates on the Red Bull F1 team.

Schumacher feels that the 27-year-old is truly an exceptional talent in F1.
He simply makes the difference. Max Verstappen is really capable of giving that little bit extra that those exceptional world champions before him already have. There are not many of them, and I honestly don’t count Lewis Hamilton among that list.

Verstappen will have a new teammate alongside him in the 2025 F1 season. He outclassed Sergio Perez in his four-year stint with him, but keeping in view the tough mentality and fighting spirit of Liam Lawson, the Dutchman could come under a bit of pressure.
Lawson did not shy away from getting into on-track brawls in the 2024 season and this could carry forward into 2025. However, despite the hype around the New Zealander, Verstappen could very well end up dominating him just like he has bashed his past teammates in F1.
