Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1. However, the seven-time world champion had failed to replicate this success in recent years as he last won a race in 2021. Nevertheless, Hamilton turned things around and emerged victorious at the British GP once again.

The British driver made history by winning the race for a record-breaking ninth time. Lewis Hamilton becomes the the first F1 driver to win on the same track nine times. As such, Hamilton’s close friend and former rival Sebastian Vettel took to Instagram to congratulate the seven-time world champion.

Sebastian Vettel posted a story on Instagram. The four-time world champion uploaded a picture of Hamilton celebrating his win with the British flag. Vettel labeled the 39-year-old as ‘GOAT’ which refers to the ‘Greatest of all time,’ signaling that Lewis Hamilton is the greatest driver in the history of Formula 1.

Toto Wolff claims Lewis Hamilton could not have had a ‘better farewell GP’

Mercedes team Toto Wolff was delighted to see Hamilton take his first F1 win in 945 days at Silverstone. As the British driver managed to end his winless run in the sport during the final season with the Silver Arrows. Wolff had even claimed the victory to be a fairytale for Lewis Hamilton.

Moreover, the Austrian billionaire claimed that there could not have been a better farewell race for the seven-time world champion. As it is not only Lewis Hamilton’s home race, but even for the Brackley-based team which is located just a few miles away from the Silverstone circuit.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton will cherish this victory for the time to come. The 39-year-old once again proved himself as one of the best drivers in F1 history. Although, Hamilton would be pushing to fight for more victories in his final season at Mercedes.
