The 2024 Dutch Grand Prix qualifying was an extremely fierce affair. Most of the top drivers were seen jocking for positions and amidst this, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez managed a fifth place for the main race.
The Mexican was extremely pleased with his mighty effort in the RB20. He even took to social media to make his intentions known for the race. Sergio Perez will be eyeing a podium at the least in the 72-lap Dutch Grand Prix.

It's a shame we only had one set of tires for Q3, but starting 5th on the grid, we got a good chance to fight for a podium.Sergio Perez via X

Lástima que llegamos con un solo set de llantas a Q3, pero un top 5 que de ahí podemos pelear para mañana. ?#SP11 pic.twitter.com/mk4AndxaDl
Looking at the short and clear message from the six-time Grand Prix, he has fired indirect warning shots toward the drivers starting ahead of him. Mercedes’ George Russell is in fourth place and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri will start his Zandvoort outing from P3.
Christian Horner applauds Lando Norris on ‘strong lap’ in qualifying
While Perez has set his sights on overtaking a few drivers at the Zandvoort race, Red Bull boss Christian Horner was extremely impressed by Lando Norris. The latter managed an extremely strong lap in Q3 which pushed Max Verstappen from first place to second.

Norris’ final qualifying lap was a highly impressive 1:09:673.
Firstly, congratulations to Lando, that was a strong lap from him. It was very tricky for all the drivers in the wind today, you get a snap and then in one corner you look bad and then on the next lap you look ok.Christian Horner said post Dutch GP qualifying

In the upcoming 2024 Dutch Grand Prix rain is expected to play a part. Keeping this and the position of certain drivers in view, the dash from the start to Turn 1 could lead to several surprises.
From the point of view of the Red Bull drivers, it will be in their best interest to stay away from any unnecessary wheel-to-wheel battle. The race will be long where overtaking opportunities will arise via on-track action as well as through the strategic calls made from the pit wall.
