The 2024 United States Grand Prix weekend is well underway with the culmination of Friday’s running. While the drivers had a blast going around the 5.513 km COTA track, they have also been up to various kinds of shenanigans within the F1 paddock.

The latest installment to this list has been in the form of drivers trying their hands at making NBA-style basketball shots. Heavy hitters like Max Verstappen, Oscar Piastri, and Charles Leclerc among various others, were all seen trying their luck at making eye-catching hoops!

The American race weekends are always full of fun for the drivers. There is always something going on within the paddock and it immensely helps them in getting their mind off the stresses of the sport for just a bit!

Christian Horner immensely pleased with Max Verstappen’s COTA Sprint pole

The Red Bull F1 team, to the surprise of many, has managed to hit the ground running at the US GP. In the recent Sprint qualifying, Max Verstappen was able to pull off a magical lap in SQ3 that was good enough for P1.

Seeing the massive improvement compared to the last few race weekends, Christian Horner feels Red Bull is well and truly back!

A Sprint pole for Max Verstappen in Austin! It’s great to be back and see immediate evidence of the team’s relentless work since Singapore with a sprint race pole position for Max, with Checo due to start in P11 for tomorrow. It’s only the first third of the weekend of course, there’s a long way to go, but we’ll be focused on capitalising on this position to bring us a good start to our time here in Texas.

The ongoing COTA weekend being a Sprint event, has ample points on the table for the top drivers. Verstappen is aware of his position in the driver’s championship against Lando Norris and thus, his Sprint pole will help him a lot in extending his current 52 points lead.

In comparison to the three-time world champion’s pole, Norris was only able to manage a fourth-place finish behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Considering this, he could be seen making some daring moves on the first lap of the upcoming 19-lap dash around the COTA circuit. Verstappen will not find it easy keeping a fast MCL38 behind him during the short race.
