Ex-F1 driver declares ‘always ready’ Max Verstappen won’t change in 2025
Stoffel Vandoorne believed that Max Verstappen would showcase a performance similar to 2024 if not better in the 2025 season.

Max Verstappen emerged victorious in the 2024 season despite the inferior pace of Red Bull’s chassis to McLaren. Woking despite having the fastest chassis, barely won the constructors’ championship against Ferrari. Due to this, Ex-F1 driver Stoffel Vandoorne talked highly about Verstappen’s pace and noted that it wouldn’t change in the 2025 season either.
McLaren’s dominant chassis enabled Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri to maximize points over the race weekend. Regardless, Norris was unable to fight for the championship over the latter half of the season. Max Verstappen was struggling to score race wins and still fended off well against the dominant rivals on track.
Stoffel Vandoorne reckoned that despite McLaren having the fastest chassis, the team was unable to make the most out of it. The Belgian highlighted that Norris dropped points on multiple occasions which Verstappen didn’t. Vandoorne suggested that the Dutchman was always ready to perform well and wouldn’t change next season either.
The competition will be ‘even closer’ in 2025
The 2025 season will be the final edition of the ground-effect era as multiple teams peaked in performance over the regulations. Stoffel Vandoorne believed the competition would be even closer next year. The Belgian picked Mercedes and Ferrari as his favorites to showcase the most improvement. Finally, Vandoorne concluded by asserting that winning the title would be extremely hard for everyone.
Red Bull and McLaren would be the fan favorites due to the close competition between Norris and Verstappen. Milton Keynes has a lot of work to do on the chassis to start the 2025 season on a strong note. Woking, on the other hand, has to keep up with performances like the 2024, and maintain a similar consistency in results.
