Lewis Hamilton joins Scuderia Ferrari this year. The seven-time world champion will finally race for the most decorated team in racing history. Now, Dutch racing driver Tom Coronel has dreamt of a perfect Netflix storyline where Hamilton would eventually retire from Maranello.

Coronel pointed out that he wants Lewis Hamilton to have a perfect ending, like a Netflix film. He emphasized that it would begin with the Briton joining Ferrari to fulfill his aim of winning in red before his retirement from the sport.

That’s what I’ve described as the new Netflix finale, which they can then use for 2026. Look, of course it’s about wanting to drive at Ferrari and that you want to be and become the best ever.

Moreover, Tom Coronel insisted that he can be in the shoes of filmmakers like Steven Spielberg to script the rest of the story. The Dutchman claimed that if Lewis Hamilton manages to win his eighth F1 title, he would immediately stand on the podium and announce his retirement, shocking the entire world. Hamilton would then be replaced by a young and promising talent at Ferrari.

If he takes that eighth World title, if I can play Steven Spielberg for a while, the dream is that he will say there on that podium, ‘I retire’. Then there will be a nice seat available for a young, wild dog, or perhaps, you don’t know, the chance to see other big names in the red suit.

Tom Coronel wants Lewis Hamilton to avenge 2021 Abu Dhabi GP defeat

Another scene visualized by Coronel was similar to the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, when Lewis Hamilton lost the title to Max Verstappen under controversial circumstances. The 52-year-old claimed that such a scene would be replicated with both drivers fighting each other till the last lap. However, this time, it would be Verstappen who faces an issue beyond his control which leads to Hamilton becoming the world champion.

That last race, that last lap, always Max and Lewis competing with each other. And then something very strange happens, a valve cap breaks or something Max can’t do anything about, and then Lewis becomes champion.

Tom Coronel added

Certainly, the entire paddock has high expectations for Lewis Hamilton’s debut Ferrari campaign this year. Albeit, it is unlikely that the 40-year-old would be expecting himself to be a title favorite already. Nevertheless, things can change quickly in Formula 1 and the Tifosi would be waiting to see how Hamilton fares in pre-season testing.
