One team that has been constantly linked with a move for Sainz is Mercedes, the first of many to discuss the possibility of a move for him.
Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff has been at the heart of much confusion and speculation regarding Carlos Sainz. Wolff reportedly closed the door on a move for Sainz earlier this season, saying that the Silver Arrows will look to nurture one of their own, which is F2 racing sensation, Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
However, Kimi Antonelli is currently on a poor spell in F2 for the Prema Racing team, which caused a stir in the mind of Wolff with regards to a move for the Italian in 2025. The Austrian has therefore clarified that Carlos Sainz is the safest bet for any team on the grid, given the traits and qualities he possesses.
