The Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff believes that with ongoing battles in F1, the sport is exciting despite Red Bull’s dominance. The Milton-Keynes-based team has been performing at an extremely high level since the dawn of the current regulations.
Toto Wolff believes that there are still many places where Mercedes can improve. As for the competition, impressed by Ferrari, he feels that the Maranello-based team is totally closing up the gap on Red Bull and thus, his team can also look forward to closing up on Ferrari.
Mercedes is currently fourth in the 2024 Constructors Championship.
I think we can be closer to the Ferraris than we’ve shown today. It is still exciting. I don’t know what the race was for you guys to watch, I’m just looking at our cars in split time so I never have a correct picture of what’s actually happening out there.Toto Wolff told: Crash.net
Mercedes has been seen struggling since the start of the season, their hopes went to dust after their W15 started creating more and more issues with each passing race. However, during the Japanese GP, the team was able to manage some overtakes and score better points.
Mercedes’s team principal believes Max Verstappen is unbeatable
The reigning world champion, Max Verstappen has proved too mighty in the last few years, and Toto Wolff believes that there is no way, anyone will be able to get the jump on him this year as well. Red Bull has been dominating for the past three seasons, and the Dutchman has made a huge contribution to that.
Verstappen has won three of the four races during the ongoing campaign.
No one is going to catch Max this year. His driving and the car is just spectacular. You can see the way he manages the tyres. And basically this season now is best of the rest. That’s the fight that’s on.Toto Woff via: Crash.net
Max Verstappen is unbeatable for a reason, his potential is immense, and he has proved again and again why he deserves the title of the world champion. Of course, Red Bull’s RB20 and the team’s collective efforts have helped him immensely, but, his intelligence and brilliance on the track are the reasons behind his constant wins.
