Lewis Hamilton is no longer a Mercedes driver. The seven-time world champion has officially joined Scuderia Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season. Hamilton’s former team boss Toto Wolff has now drawn an interesting comparison over the Briton’s first Instagram post.
The F1 star broke the internet by his first Instagram post from Maranello. The seven-time world champion was seen in a classic black outfit in front of the Ferrari headquarters, beside a Ferrari F40 sportscar. Lewis Hamilton later posted a picture in his new racing gear, which garnered over $400,000.
Toto Wolff claimed that he felt like being a recently divorced partner. The Austrian billionaire emphasized that he was okay, till he saw Hamilton’s post. As the Mercedes boss felt like he was seeing his ‘ex-partner’ with his new friend for the first time.
It was a bit like when you divorce amicably, and it’s all right, but then see your ex partner for the first time with his new friend.

Toto Wolff praises Lewis Hamilton’s ‘iconic’ pictures
Nevertheless, Wolff insisted that he had been in communication with Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes boss claimed that he found these pictures to be ‘iconic.’ Toto Wolff asserted that it was no surprise since it was Hamilton after all. The 53-year-old emphasized that he was happy to see his former star driver begin a new chapter of his career.

But I’m still very very happy for him and I already told him that those photographs they took are iconic. It was all so accurate in detail, but I’m not surprised since it’s Lewis.
Toto Wolff added
Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff had a great relationship during their time at Mercedes. Things could take a turn this year as the two become rivals. However, both Hamilton and Wolff will likely stay on friendly terms and be spotted together in the paddock regularly over the course of 2025.
