Toto Wolff labels Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari move a ‘refresh’ for Mercedes

Lewis Hamilton is all set to debut with Ferrari in the 2025 season. Prodigy Kimi Antonelli will replace the seven-time champion at Brackley. The German carmaker will deem their first season in Hamilton’s absence after almost 12 years. Hence, Toto Wolff talked about the ‘refresh’ that Mercedes will go through in the 2025 season.
Toto Wolff had already labeled George Russell as the ‘next lead driver’ following Lewis Hamilton‘s switch to Ferrari. Russell will have to help Kimi Antonelli get up to speed as Mercedes banks great hopes on the prodigy. Wolff put forth his excitement with the new lineup for the German carmaker in the 2025 season alongside multiple other changes.

Wolff also sent his regards to Hamilton in his new venture with Ferrari. The Mercedes boss who previously labeled the Briton’s move as a ‘divorce’ was now full of delight for the 40-year-old. The Austrian noted that the seven-time champion doing something ‘on his own’ was a refresh for both the people involved.

Moreover, the 53-year-old branded Hamilton’s sense of style and first appearance as ‘iconic’.

The team had already deemed a mediocre performance in the previous season and must find improvement in order to contend for either of the championships.
