Toto Wolff reveals Mercedes ‘ticked off boxes’ which were causes of concern for W15’s performance

Mercedes was lacking behind in performance at the beginning of the season. The W15 announced for the 2024 season seemed to be as bad as last year’s car. However, as the season progressed Mercedes kept on bringing new upgrade packages, which helped George Russell clinching pole in Canada. The Silver Arrows also managed to win the races at Austria and Silverstone. These improvements were really impressive. Now, Toto Wolff claimed they have addressed and solved all the issues related to W15.
Toto Wolff explained that while Mercedes successfully addressed the main issues of the W14 during the winter, allowing for some improvement, they discovered new critical challenges with the W15. Their initial goal was to fix the problems of the W14, which they achieved. However, in the process of developing the W15, these efforts revealed additional areas needing attention, which they hadn’t anticipated.

Wolff mentioned that this approach gave them a clearer picture of what they needed to fix, which enabled them to make progress in improving the car’s overall performance.
