Lewis Hamilton responded to Toto Wolff's 'shelf life' comments and declared that no other driver in Formula 1 could be compared to him.

Toto Wolff had made an offensive remark on Lewis Hamilton‘s ‘shelf life’ in Formula 1 following the latter’s switch in teams. Hamilton, despite being over 40 years old has achieved a lucrative deal to race with Ferrari for the 2025 season. Now, the Briton put forth some strong remarks against Wolff’s controversial take.
Lewis Hamilton is often considered to be one of the best if not the best driver in Formula 1. Moreover, Hamilton is notably the first and only black driver in the history of the sport. The 40-year-old called out Toto Wolff on his shelf-life remarks insisting that he should not be compared to anyone else. The Briton also highlighted the challenges he faced throughout his journey in F1, particularly concerning his race.

Hamilton emphasized that his journey to Formula 1 was unique and unlike that of any other driver in history. The 40-year-old also stated that he couldn’t be compared to others his age who have raced in the sport. The seven-time champion asserted that his experiences set him apart which further created a difference between him and the others.
I’ve had my own journey. You can’t compare me to another 40-year-old, past or present, Formula One driver in history. Because they are nothing like me.

Lewis Hamilton hasn’t settled down with a wife and kids despite incessant rumors of dating Camilla Kendra in the past. Hamilton felt that this further was a point of difference between him and others his age. The seven-time champion declared that he was hungry and driven to score better results and did not even have a wife and kids. The Briton’s focus and priority lay in winning races in Formula 1 despite pushing 40 years of age.

I’m hungry, driven, don’t have a wife and kids. I’m focused on one thing, and that’s winning. That’s my No. 1 priority.

Hamilton has a contract with Ferrari until at least the end of the 2026 season. The Briton is likely to continue racing if his thirst for winning in F1 isn’t over by then. The 40-year-old will have to keep up performances at the Italian constructor to be labeled as a hero forever by the Tifosi.
