Max Verstappen has had a difficult weekend off-track at the Singapore GP. The Dutch driver became the first victim of the FIA’s ban on swearing, and as such was handed a penalty. After Qualifying, Verstappen simply refused to give detailed answers in the press conference.
The Dutch driver admitted that Red Bull had made a lot of changes after Friday’s practice. However, Max Verstappen made it clear that he would not elaborate further due to the fear of getting fined by the FIA again. The Red Bull driver hinted that he might not talk at all if the sports governing body did not change its ruling.
A lot.., no I might get fined or get an extra day [of community service].Max Verstappen said in press conference
Moreover, throughout the conference, Verstappen simply gave blunt 1-word responses, signaling his anger towards the swear ban penalty. Ultimately, the three-time world champion clarified to the reporter that his cold answers were not towards him personally.
Maybe. It's an unknown, this is not towards you don't worry, I don't want to upset you.Max Verstappen continued

The three-time world champion thanked the entire Red Bull crew for working hard overnight. Verstappen admitted that his second place in Qualifying was a very positive and unexpected result for the team.

Certainly, Max Verstappen will likely continue to showcase his discontent towards the FIA. Lewis Hamilton has come out in support of the Dutch driver. It seems that the sports governing body could face stronger backlash from drivers in the coming days.
