Max Verstappen proved his racing prowess at the Italian GP, and why he’s a four-time champion in Formula 1. The Dutchman looked strong since the beginning of the race weekend and left no stone unturned to emerge victorious at Ferrari’s home race. Notably, Verstappen achieved the fastest lap ever recorded in the history of Formula 1 and also secured the fastest race win. As such, the Tifosi did not hesitate to celebrate the impressive feat extraordinarily.

The Italians and the Tifosi have a deep sense of respect for Max Verstappen and his performances in Formula 1. Although Verstappen has been booed at other racing venues, the Italian GP was definitely not one of those. There were reportedly some booes hurled towards the McLaren drivers in Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Meanwhile, the Tifosi sang along to the lyrics of Max Verstappen’s infamous meme song, “DU DU DU, Max Verstappen.” While the national anthem of the Netherlands was being played, the Italians overcame the sound of the speakers as massive roars of Verstappen’s name emerged at the Monza circuit. The 27-year-old was extremely delighted to witness this event, as it definitely made his race win all the more special.

Max Verstappen was spotted sporting a huge smile on his face after listening to the loud chants of the Tifosi. Verstappen was already over the moon after his stellar race win, and this sweet gesture from the Italians is likely to add to the speciality of the win. Moreover, the Dutchman’s long-time girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, was also present to witness all the special moments of the Italian GP.

Max Verstappen claims Tifosi cheered for him properly ‘for the first time’

Max Verstappen’s battle was against the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at the Italian GP this time around. However, the Dutchman also had to battle the Ferrari drivers in the past and emerge victorious against them on Italian grounds. Because of this, the Tifosi weren’t too glad and did not have as much enthusiasm celebrating the race win. But this time around, the situation was completely different, and the local fans definitely pulled through for the reigning world champion.

Speaking on the sweet gesture, Max Verstappen reflected on the straight part of the circuit being flooded by the Tifosi to look at him on the podium. Verstappen mentioned that the Italian fans properly cheered for him for the first time. The Dutchman recalled how the last two times he had to battle and win against the Ferrari drivers and they weren’t that happy with the matter.

The entire straight was filled with people. This was the first time the Tifosi properly cheered for me! The last two times I won here, the competition was Ferrari, and they were a little less happy with it.
