Red Bull is known for its show runs across the globe. The Austrian giant often sets up a brilliant showcase for fans in some of its modern classics. RB’s Yuki Tsunoda took a trip to Taiwan this weekend, where things almost got out of hand.
Tsunoda was driving Sebastian Vettel‘s 2012 championship-winning Red Bull RB8 in Taichung, Taiwan. The car was painted in Milton Keynes’ current matte livery. However, Yuki Tsunoda had to cut his run short as smoke erupted from the back of the car.

The Japanese driver stopped the car in the middle of the show, with Red Bull mechanics rushing to put the fire out. Fire extinguishers were used to stop the flames from doing more damage to the RB8 after the Renault V8 broke down. Perhaps a good reminder to many about the reliability of the current F1 power units.

Certainly, Yuki Tsunoda would not leave Taiwan disappointed over the engine failure. The RB driver seemed to have enjoyed his entire outing as F1 takes a small break after the Singapore GP. Tsunoda would perhaps take some time off before embracing himself for the final six races.
