The Hungarian GP saw a highly impressive performance from Lando Norris and even Lewis Hamilton. The 39-year-old scored a podium finish after an enticing battle with Max Verstappen towards the end. Additionally, the Briton joked about Norris’ McLaren chassis being extremely fast. Towards this, the 24-year-old had an awkward reaction as he recalled Mercedes’ dominance many years back.

Lando Norris claimed that Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a dominant car seven years back and now it was McLaren’s chance. However, Hamilton made it clear that he was just complimenting the car and didn’t mean any ill intent. Hence, the 39-year-old provided more clarity over his feelings after the entire matter and noted that he didn’t take it too personally.

Lewis Hamilton noted that he wasn’t ‘bothered’ by Norris’ awkward comments towards the former. Subsequently, the Englishman added that he himself was in the same situation many years back and made such statements. As a result, Hamilton believed the response from the 24-year-old to be just an ‘age thing’ and nothing personal.

It didn’t bother me, no. Look, I’m nearly 40 years old so I remember being in my mid twenties. It’s an age thing, and I don’t take it personally.
Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by skysportsf1.

Lewis Hamilton claims Lando Norris just needs to ‘keep working as a team’ with McLaren

The Hungarian GP witnessed massive drama among the McLaren crew towards the end of the race. Lando Norris didn’t easily give up the race victory to Oscar Piastri and wanted to prove a point. However, the Briton did let his teammate past him and helped him score his maiden victory in Formula 1. Subsequently, Hamilton called out the 24-year-old to continue working with the team in such a manner.

Lewis Hamilton claimed that it was ‘important’ for Norris to continue what he was doing and keep working together as a team.

I think what's important is just continue to do what he's doing, he's driving great, they got a great car and just need to keep working together as a team.
Lewis Hamilton added
