The Miami GP was one of the most exciting races of the 2024 season so far. McLaren’s Lando Norris managed to come out in the lead of the race after a Safety Car. The Briton kept Max Verstappen at bay throughout the race and went on to take his first-ever F1 victory. However, after the race, Verstappen took a dig at the Briton’s comments.
In the post-race media session, Lando Norris claimed that he would have needed to overtake several cars if he had not made gains under the Safety Car. The British driver accepted that luck was on his side during the race as he finally became a race-winner after a five-year drought.
Otherwise I would have had to overtake a lot of cars (without a SC).Lando Norris stated in post-race interview
Max Verstappen interrupted Norris and made a hilarious comment to potentially express his frustration over losing the race. The reigning world champion claimed that life was always a case of ifs. So much so, that the Dutchman reckoned that if her mother had ‘b**ls.’ she would be her father. Lando Norris burst into laughter over Verstappen’s comments and failed to come up with a suitable reply
That's always if, if, if. If my mum had balls, she'd be my dad.Max Verstappen’s reply to Lando Norris

Lando Norris claims maiden F1 win was a ‘long time coming’
Norris has raced in Formula 1 since making his debut in 2019. Over the years, the Briton had shown promising pace but failed to turn it into a race victory. Lando Norris even made the record for the most podiums in F1 without a race win. However, things finally changed at the Miami GP as the McLaren driver stood on the top step of the podium.
Lando Norris claimed that this victory had been a long time coming. The 24-year-old was delighted for the entire McLaren crew over this massive accomplishment. Norris highlighted that the Woking-based team had managed to overcome setbacks throughout the weekend to take its first victory since 2021.
What a race. It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve finally managed to do it. I’m so happy for the whole team, and what we’ve achieved together. We’ve had a few little setbacks across the weekend, but today we managed to put it all together.Lando Norris stated
