During an interview at the Austrian GP, Max Verstappen took a humorous dig at McLaren’s colors. This was in comparison to the orange of his own fanbase, who were cheering from the opposite side of the stand.

Max Verstappen shared his excitement for Red Bull’s home race, describing the incredible fans wearing orange in the stands and the fantastic atmosphere they created. He highlighted the overwhelming support he always received at the event, emphasizing the enthusiasm and energy his fans brought to the race weekend.

The Dutchman pointed towards the fans standing to his right and called it ‘good orange.’ He was referring to the supporters wearing orange, who were creating a positive and energetic atmosphere at the event. However, Verstappen humorously noted McLaren’s papaya orange presence behind him and indicated them as ugly.

Max Verstappen expects the Austrian GP would be a tough race due to degradation

Max Verstappen performed extremely well during the Austrian GP qualifying and the Sprint race. The Dutchman was asked whether he felt unbeatable after securing pole and a strong performance in Sprint. He acknowledged that the weekend had been promising this far, butremained aware of the challenges ahead. Verstappen reckoned tire degradation might cause a problem to them in the main race. This response from the Red Bull driver reflected a balanced optimism regarding success achieved and further challenges.

Well, let's see. So far, it's been a really good weekend. I still expect it to be a tough race with the degradation.

Verstappen mentioned it’s quite hot today , he highlighted they needs to take care of the tires due to high temperature. He expressed optimism about achieving the same good balance they found during qualifying for Sunday’s race. The Dutch driver stressed the need to maintain balance in hot conditions for good tire management and a strong race.

It's quite hot today, so we really have to look after the tires, and hopefully, with the balance we found yesterday in qualifying, we can replicate it today. If we can do that then I am confident that we can have a good race.
