Sergio Perez has been at the receiving end of major criticism after a string of poor performances this season. The pressure now piles up on the 34-year-old further as he failed to finish on the podium for the sixth race in a row after a lackluster performance around the Red Bull Ring.

Perez claimed that the car was not as fast around the high-speed corners in Austria and struggled to find pace in the straights as well. But the Mexican driver was undoubtedly frustrated the most after Nico Hulkenberg, in a Haas, finished ahead of him by an extremely small margin.

Christian Horner shares his thoughts on Austrian GP loss
Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner has claimed his team could have ended the Austrian Grand Prix on a better note after missing out on the win during the closing stages of the race. Max Verstappen collided with McLaren’s Lando Norris, which cost Red Bull the win despite a strong weekend.

Sprint victory yesterday so it hasn’t been totally disastrous, but, yes, still frustrating, we really would have liked the win, but that is racing.Christian Horner said post Austrian GP

Max Verstappen started the race on a strong note by winning the sprint on Saturday and achieving pole position in qualifying. However, the Dutch driver committed a grave error on lap 65, crashing into Lando Norris, which inflicted heavy damages and forced the drivers to head into the pits at a crucial moment during the race.
Christian Horner has hence said that the weekend has not been an entirely wasteful one for the Milton-Keynes outfit. But has also concluded that a win could have been the best possible outcome for the team. Red Bull will now regroup and revisit the decisions that led to the unfortunate ending in Spielberg as they approach a fresh start at Silverstone.
