The 2023 Hungarian GP is well-known for two reasons, first, for Red Bull winning 12 races in a row, and second, for Lando Norris breaking Max Verstappen‘s prestigious P1 trophy during his wild celebrations. Lando Norris and Sergio Perez were the two drivers sharing the podium with the Dutch maestro, and it was when the former banged his champagne bottle on the podium that Verstappen’s trophy broke into two pieces.

It was an unfortunate incident, and it was clear from Norris’s reaction as to how much he regretted doing what he did. Moreover, when it comes to the manufacturing of the trophy, it is believed that it took the makers around six months to get it ready, and its cost was around a whopping 40,0000 euros or $44,3000.

The incident was a peculiar one as there haven’t been several occasions in the past where the drivers have managed to break the trophy that is given to them on the podium. Lando Norris’s shenanigans led to the breaking of the prestigious award, and the makers were certainly not happy with the carelessness of the McLaren starlet.
