The coverage for the 2024 Azerbaijan GP qualifying is going to be mega, just like it has been for all the other rounds this year, McLaren and Red Bull fighting for the championship. The sport is growing at the rate of knots and the scale of coverage is only going to get bigger.
What to expect from the Baku qualifying session?
While the world will be tuning into the Azerbaijan GP qualifying session, as per FP1 and FP2, the competition between the top four teams is extremely tight. Red Bull looked extremely sharp during both sessions as Max Verstappen topped the first free practice and Sergio Perez ended up in third at the end of FP2.
From Mercedes’ perspective, Lewis Hamilton had an extremely productive Friday outing. He ended both sessions in the top three. Ferrari had a bit of an up-and-down outing as on one hand, Charles Leclerc ended FP2 on top of the timing sheets, but on the other, he rammed his SF-24 into the barriers on a hot lap in FP1. Carlos Sainz had a decent outing as well.
The high-flying McLarens were struggling with quite a few things but despite this, were toward the north end. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the much-anticipated Baku qualifying session will be a must-see event. All the teams will give their all in trying to out-do the other around the tricky 6-kilometer track.
