Red Bull is allegedly in a state of upheaval over Max Verstappen‘s future teammate. RB driver Yuki Tsunoda tested the RB20 at the post-season test amidst rumors of Sergio Perez’s exit. Now, Tsunoda has expressed confidence after his outing,
The Japanese driver claimed that the RB20 suited his driving style. Moreover, Yuki Tsunoda insisted that he did not even struggle to get up to pace driving Max Verstappen‘s championship-winning car. Tsunoda had a positive session for Milton Keynes.
This comment comes at a time when Liam Lawson is being touted as Checo’s replacement. Yuki Tsunoda has often been ignored by Red Bull for its second seat. However, the Japanese driver has indirectly made his claim by showing that he felt comfortable with the chassis.
Yuki Tsunoda was confident driving the RB20
The 24-year-old pointed out that he managed to pull off consistent lap times during long runs. Additionally, Yuki Tsunoda emphasized that it was his confidence in the RB20 that allowed him to understand the limitations on-track.
Certainly, Yuki Tsunoda wants to race for Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen. The Japanese driver has stayed at the Red Bull sister team since 2021, but now has bigger ambitions. Perhaps, Christian Horner and Helmut Marko are keeping an eye on the 24-year-old, for which he was given the post-season test for Red Bull.
