Max Verstappen is undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the history of Formula 1. The Dutch driver has not been outperformed by his teammates since Daniel Ricciardo raced at Red Bull six years ago. However, RB’s Yuki Tsunoda reckoned that he would push himself to the limit against Verstappen if he got the chance.
Yuki Tsunoda was asked how he would feel to partner Max Verstappen at Red Bull. The Japanese driver made it clear that he was ready to race hard against the reigning world champion. Moreover, Tsunoda claimed that he won’t make life easy for the Dutch driver. Perhaps a dig at Sergio Perez who has failed to match Verstappen.
I think I can fight hard with him. I won't make life easy for him, for sure.Yuki Tsunoda told RacingNews365
However, the Japanese driver acknowledged that Verstappen was a quick driver. As such, Yuki Tsunoda admitted that he wouldn’t be confident about defeating the Dutchman in the drivers’ standings straightaway.

Yuki Tsunoda praises Max Verstappen for adapting to all conditions
Max Verstappen has dominated Formula 1 in the past two seasons. Yuki Tsunoda praised the Dutch driver’s consistency, highlighting that the 26-year-old adapted to all conditions. The Japanese driver even pinpointed Verstappen’s record-breaking 2023 campaign where he won 19 races in a single season, despite tricky weather conditions.
Multiple condition changes, he's always somehow adapted really, really well. That's why he was very consistent last year, being able to 19 races and last year, there were a lot of multiple weather changes [during races].Yuki Tsunoda explained
Certainly, Yuki Tsunoda understands that racing alongside Max Verstappen is a challenging task. However, the Japanese driver seems to be willing to put himself in such a situation. Unfortunately. Red Bull has not shown interest in promoting Tsunoda to Milton Keynes in 2025 so far.
