McLaren CEO Zak Brown has been in constant dialogue with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner since the Austrian GP. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris collided in a controversial turn of events on lap 64 of the race at Spielberg.

The two teams have since taken a supportive stance for their respective drivers in the incident. Thereafter, Max Verstappen has been struck with two penalty points by the FIA. McLaren and Red Bull have disrupting views against each other on the matter.

Zak Brown has allegedly called out Christian Horner as a gatekeeper of the integrity of the sport. Brown bashed Horner, saying that he and his team are fearful of Verstappen. The 52-year-old then claimed proper discretion and transparency from McLaren towards their drivers as opposed to the Milton-Keynes unit.

On the other hand, Christian Horner has stood by Max Verstappen’s decision on Lando Norris, stating it is pure and hard racing. The upcoming races will foresee many such battles between the two who make their attempts at winning races hereon.

Lando Norris urges McLaren to ‘step up’ in battles for victory

Lando Norris has praised McLaren for their improvements in comparison to last season. Norris has, however, shown his disappointment with the missed chances at Silverstone. The 24-year-old has called for the team to revisit their issues to avoid shortfalls in the future.

The British driver missed out on a win at his home race due to a strategic blunder by the team. Norris has since credited Red Bull for their clinical competence at the face of victory.
