McLaren CEO Zak Brown recently talked about the exciting competition at the top of Formula 1. He believes both McLaren and Ferrari have put pressure on Red Bull and now compete at the top level. Additionally, he thinks Mercedes is capable of reaching the top spot as well.

McLaren has been performing outstandingly lately, with Lando Norris emerging victorious at the Miami GP. However, Zak Brown insisted that the team was not at the top of its game. The American reckoned that it would be a big mistake to exclude anyone from consideration especially Ferrari. The 52-year-old insisted although Ferrari have a new driver to integrate, their Team Principal Fred Vasseur was performing exceptionally well. This performance from Ferrari could be a threat for McLaren.

It would be a big mistake to exclude anyone. I think Ferrari is progressing like us . Obviously, they have a driver change that they need to work on, but I think their team principal is doing a great job. So I look at the Ferrari and say: 'Mmm, they're going to be quite dangerous

Brown mentioned that even Mercedes couldn’t be ignored in this scenario, he sees potential in the Silver Arrows. However, the Brackley-based team are currently in a transition period of not deciding the driver for the next season, which creates quite a bit of uncertainty. Even though Mercedes are an amazing team, this uncertainty makes things a bit challenging for them.

Mercedes is impossible to rule out, but they are going through a transition phase. They don't know the driver line-up for next year yet, so I think they have a bit of uncertainty. They are an incredible team, but that uncertainty makes everything a little difficult.

Brown claimed that McLaren is in strong position because of their drivers who holds exceptional driving talent. The American reckoned that his team had a lot of stability, energy and momentum with the best pair of drivers on the grid with experience and youth which is crucial in any sport. This combination ensures they have a strong and balanced team, both the driver’s experience brings wisdom and reliability. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are essential for McLaren’s ongoing success.

I think we have a enormous amount of stability, energy and momentum. I believe we have the best driver duo on the grid , a combination of experience, youth and longevity and, in any sport, this is critically important.

Further, the American claimed they are working very hard to ensure the victory in Miami was just the beginning, it was just the first win of many to come this year. Zak Brown expressed how focused and determined the team is to improve and achieve great results in upcoming races. Brown’s team is ready to face any challenges and are motivated to secure more victories and maintain their strong performance.

We are pushing hard to make sure the win in Miami is our first win of the year, not our last of the year.

Overall, McLaren described the win in Miami was just the beginning of the teams success and there’s a lot more to come ahead of this season despite a great threat from Ferrari in upcoming races as well as in future. Lando Norris has a great fanbase. Brown believes, they would be more than happy if the 24-year-old wins some more races.
