It’s been almost five months since The Rock took a sabbatical from WWE to revert to his Hollywood ventures. With a promise that he’ll eventually be back, The People’s Champ even shot a movie based on Mark Kerr in the meantime. He had wrapped up the filming of Smashing Machine just days into August. Everyone thought that he might pull off a surprise appearance at SummerSlam. But it didn’t happen.

And after the injury he picked up during the course of the shoot, it wasn’t happening anyway. However, the countdown has seemingly begun on The Rock‘s much-awaited return to WWE. As per PWN on their discord, The Great One is expected to be back on WWE programming within a month or two. At this point, it’s not certain whether he’ll stick around for a while or if it’ll be a one-off appearance.

On Raw after WrestleMania XL, The Rock told Cody Rhodes that their story was just beginning. The wrestler-turned-actor even teased coming after Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE title once he’s back. As of now, the plan is to have Rock and Cody compete in a singles match at next year’s WrestleMania. Since Rock left, The Bloodline he was once a part of has undergone a drastic overhaul.

Roman Reigns is no longer the leader. Instead, he’s been upstaged by Solo Sikoa, who has recruited Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu in recent months. Hence, it would be interesting to see how The Brahma Bull will be reinstated into the ongoing turmoil between the Anoa’i family members. Rock’s arch-rival, Cody, is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Sikoa in a steel cage match on next week’s season premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network.

Fans go gaga over The Rock’s impending return to WWE

Now that the cat is out of the bag, the fans are already having a field day on social media. Predictions are being made in regards to The Rock’s comeback scenario. Those on X believe there’s a chance that the 52-year-old might show up next Friday.

Why? It’s because SmackDown is returning to the USA Network after a five-year hiatus. WWE has already loaded up the show, and Rock pulling up in Seattle would take the hype up a notch. The other obvious guess that the fans are making is of Survivor Series.

There’s heavy speculation of a WarGames match featuring Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa up against Roman Reigns’ cavalry comprising the original Bloodline members. Rumors are rampant that The Rock is bound to have some sort of involvement around this match. He could even wrestle. But the safer bet would be to have him show up at the conclusion of Survivor Series.
