Once LeBron James announced that he was going to join the Philadelphia 76ers, it was only a matter of time for his critics to come out and flame his decision to join, on paper, one of the best rosters in the league.

With Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Joel Embiid, and Jaylen Brown occupying the four starting spots, James would instantly become their primary playmaker. But that makes this unit one of the most capable in the league.

Some might say that the team will struggle, as there is only one ball, but those four players other than James would need it to produce at the level they have been doing so far.

The basketball angle is a compelling argument, at least among those who believe that joining the Sixers may not make sense. Then, others simply say that James’ legacy will be destroyed because he is joining another superteam.

In the end, LeBron James chose to ring chase. What did you expect? This wasn’t about basketball happiness. Basketball happiness, said Rich Paul. This was about ring chasing.

Throughout his near 18-minute analogy, Skip Bayless stated that James is not anywhere near Michael Jordan, but continues to chase him. To do that, James joined the best team in the East, which makes it nothing more than ring chasing.

Fans tear into Skip Bayless for continuously targeting LeBron James

As soon as this clip appeared on social media, fans reacted with nothing but anger towards Skip Bayless. They wondered how the former Undisputed analyst could constantly criticize LeBron James no matter what he does.

They wondered whether he has a problem with the 41-year-old, or whether it is his anger since the latter is gunning for Michael Jordan’s GOAT legacy. Either way, they tore into Bayless, examples of which are below.

Bayless has a history of criticizing James, and even went to the extent of arguing with the superstar’s fans in a live session, and lost. But despite that, it seems that he will not stop at it, as is evident from this rant.

Skip Bayless surprisingly applauds LeBron James for joining 76ers

After his initial rant, there was a moment where Skip Bayless started to dissect why joining the Philadelphia 76ers made sense for LeBron James. He summed up his opinion saying this:

You need a wise old point guard. You need a distributor and commander of the offense… I would not be shocked next year if he leads the league in assists… You made the correct choice. Chase away.

Bayless said

That was as surprising as it could be to anyone, considering this was Bayless’ way of applauding what he felt was the correct choice. He pointed out that all the other teams on the four-time league MVP‘s list had their flaws.

The 76ers, too, have a flaw, and that is Joel Embiid‘s health. But he believes that James could coax the best out of the big man, and that could turn them into championship favorites.
