The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat clashed in their playoff game at the TD Garden. The Celtics proved their title credentials as they humbled the Heat 114-94, who were without the injured Jimmy Butler.
The Heat were utterly humiliated as, at the end of the third quarter, they trailed the Celtics 91-59 points. And this instantly caused a frenzy on social media, especially the popular social media platform X (formerly called Twitter).
Jayson Tatum led the way for the C’s with an incredible triple-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. In the absence of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo came up with 24 points, six rebounds, and three assists for the Miami Heat, and it wasn’t enough to stop the loss despite his earlier boast that the C’s won’t have it easy.
Much is expected from the C’s this season as they’re the favorites to claim the title from the Denver Nuggets, and it’s believed it would be a failure if they fail to capture it as they’ve been the best team in the league all season. Fortunately, they had the best of starts and a bit of good fortune as playoff Jimmy Butler wasn’t on the court to rescue the Heat this time.
Fans react to Boston Celtics’ win over the Miami Heat
Social media was set on fire as the Boston Celtics started their quest for a championship with a thrashing of the visiting Miami Heat. Popular social media site X witnessed the storm for the most part.
Ain’t nothing like a Sunday ass whipping!!! I know it’s one game but it’s absolutely NOTHING to the Heat can do with these Celtics. Carry the hell on…Kendrick Perkins on X
A couple of other reactions on social media below:
The Celtics shouldn’t think it’s over despite how easy they found game one, considering it is a four-game series. Their next game is in three days, and one thing is sure: the Miami Heat won’t repeat this disastrous outing and come fully prepared.
