Over the years, many exceptional boxers have emerged in the community. It has even led to ongoing debates about who holds the title of the greatest of all time (GOAT) in boxing. Keeping that in mind, a past video of Floyd Mayweather arguing over his GOAT status has resurfaced in the boxing community, reigniting the conversation.
In 2023, Floyd Mayweather attended the post-fight press conference following Curmel Moton’s professional debut victory. Mayweather was visibly pleased with Moton’s performance and took the opportunity to offer him high praise. However, his demeanor shifted when a reporter referred to him as possibly one of the greatest boxers of all time, leading him to express his displeasure.
What are we rating myself on?… In the least amount of fights, you know, I ain’t to have 70 fights or 150 fights, 300 fights. Did I or did I not beat the most world champions… And in the least amount of fights?… Who got the highest gate?… Who made the most money… Who was the most accurate fighter of all time?

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first occasion that Mayweather asserted his dominance over other legendary boxers. Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Lennox Lewis are often mentioned in discussions about the greatest of all time (GOAT) status throughout the years.

However, Mayweather appears to remain completely undeterred by their remarkable achievements. He firmly believes that no one can truly match his accomplishments in the ring.
One reason for this could be ‘Money’ Mayweather’s perfect professional boxing record of 50 wins and no losses. He retired from professional boxing in 2017, and his fight against Conor McGregor marked his 50th victory. Despite his retirement, Mayweather still actively participates in exhibition matches and stays informed about current developments in the boxing community.
Floyd Mayweather labels undefeated Terence Crawford as the ‘pound-for-pound’ best boxer
In the current boxing landscape, there are many top fighters with impressive achievements and impeccable records. However, when discussing the pound-for-pound best in the boxing community, the list of contenders is limited. Notably, Oleksandr Usyk, Terence Crawford, and Naoya Inoue are often mentioned as the three undefeated world boxing champions that dominate these conversations.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, once considered one of the top pound-for-pound boxers, recently shared his thoughts on the current generation of boxers. Recently, during an exclusive interview with Brian Mazique, Mayweather named Crawford as the top pound-for-pound boxer. Interestingly, with that, he notably overlooked the Ukrainian champion and the Japanese champion.
I think Terence Crawford, right now in the sport of boxing, is the pound-for-pound best fighter. It’s good to see him in the position that he’s in … Terence Crawford, continue to be great.

Interestingly, Oleksandr Usyk shares the same sentiment as ‘Money’ Mayweather when it comes to naming the top pound-for-pound boxer. At 37 years old, Crawford boasts an impressive record of 41 victories and no defeats. Additionally, he is only 10 wins away from surpassing Mayweather’s remarkable boxing record.
