Wilfred Zaha and Timothy Fosu-Mensah
In the English Premier League, timely transfers may be the difference between relegation and survival. As such, many clubs have made some bizarre signings over the years. However, some have worked out and some have failed miserably. So let’s look at the players who have represented both Manchester United and Crystal Palace.
#4. Timothy Fosu-Mensah
The Dutch international started his career with Manchester United in 2016. He played as a center-back for the club and has made 16 appearances for the club. Fosu-Mensah was loaned to Crystal Palace the following season where he made 21 appearances.
Now, he currently plays for Bayern Leverkusen.
#3. Fraizer Campbell
A youth academy player, Frazer was impressive during his under-18 days. He made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in 22 starts for the Under-18s in the 2005-05 season. He signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in 2006 and was named on the substitute bench.
A player who was highly rated by Ferguson was rarely used in the team, but he still made 3 substitute appearances for the club and scored his first and only goal during a friendly match. Campbell in 2014 joined Crystal Palace on a 3-year deal. He made 43 appearances for the club and managed to score only 5 times.
#2. Wilfred Zaha
Zaha was a youth player at Crystal Palace and he made his first senior appearance in 2010. After signing his first professional contract Zaha made 110 appearances and scored just 12 goals. However, in 2013, Zaha agreed to join Manchester United but he was loaned back to Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season.
Wilfred Zaha signed a 5-year contract with Manchester United and made his first appearance against Wigan Athletic during their FA Cup match. He was in the starting line-up but was substituted at 61st minute in that match. Zaha played one more match as a substitute before he was loaned to Cardiff. However, he finally came back to Crystal Palace in 2014, initially on loan but later joined permanently, and as of now he has played 228 matches and has scored 50 times.
