He was the club’s record signing back then, paid the club back with his huge number of goals, and finished with 15, 23, 18, 15, and 23 goals in those seasons. He was part of the Gunners’ league-winning side in 1997-98.
1997-98: Dennis Bergkamp
Dennis Bergkamp took the onus of scoring the bulk of the goals from fellow striker Ian Wright in the following season, and his goals lifted the side to their first-ever Premier League title in that season.

Nicolas Anelka scored the most goals for Arsenal in the next season and topped the charts with 17 strikes playing as a striker alongside Bergkamp and Ljungberg.
1999-2006: Thierry Henry
Arguably, the Premier League’s greatest-ever striker, Thierry Henry scored the most number of goals for Arsenal for 7 consecutive seasons. He was an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s side in the early 2000s as Arsenal became a dominant force during that time by winning the 2001-02 and the 2003-04 titles.

Robin Van Persie finished as the top scorer for Arsenal in 4 seasons, scoring 11, 11, 18, and 30 goals. After the departure of Henry from the side, the onus fell on him to carry the attack for his side, and he lived up to the expectations Wenger had when he signed the Dutch striker in 2004.

Another youngster continued the trend in 2012/13 when Robin Van Persie left the club to join Manchester United. Theo Walcott finished the side’s highest scorer that year with just 14 goals.
Oliver Giroud and Alexis Sanchez alternately finished as Arsenal’s top goal scorers from 2013-2017, as Giroud won the accolade in 2014 and 2016 while Sanchez won it in 2015 and 2017.
Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inherited the top scorer title from the veterans. The former was Arsenal’s top scorer in the 2018/19 season and the 2020-21 season. Auba was the top scorer in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Bukayo Saka was the gunner’s 2021-22 season, top scorer.
