Juan Mata to continue for Man Utd one more year
Juan Mata, the 33 year old Spanish playmaker has decided to extend his deal with Manchester United for another year, which will keep him at the club till June 2022.
Juan Mata had joined United from Chelsea in 2014
Juan Mata had joined Manchester United in the January of 2014 when David Moyes was still at the helm of the Manchester United squad. Mata made the switch from Chelsea after falling out of Jose Mourinho‘s favour.

The Spanish magician has since went on and made 273 appearances for the Red Devil and has scored 51 goals. His memorable strikes include the brace against Liverpool when he scored a bicycle kick goal at Anfield, and his goal lead to Manchester United equaliser goal vs Crystal Palace in the FA CUP final in 2016 vs Crystal Palace.
While Mata made just 18 appearance in 2020-21 season, he was still recipient of one of the Manchester United player of the month award.
At the age of 33, Mata’s experience is invaluable to the relative young squad Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has at his disposal.
