Demonstration against ESL

United supporters have been highly flustered with the Glazers and their management of the club, as they were of the view that their owners saw United only as a business and nothing more. They wanted the stakeholders to sell their stake in the club with their anger reaching the zenith over the owners’ highly controversial decisions to join the European Super League, which was followed by Glazers Out placards being held up by supporters at Old Trafford and huge demonstrations being carried out, with instances of the supporters encroaching ground perimeters, due to which the United Liverpool game had to be suspended.

So today in an attempt to pacify the enraged United fanbase, Joel Glazer has vowed to add to the transfer budget this summer, as well as creating a Fan Advisory Board and a Fan Share Scheme, as he said; “Our goal is to win every competition we compete in, and we will continue to invest in our Academy and in the transfer market to support the manager in an effort to meet the club’s goals.”

“Old Trafford is at the heart of United and while we have spent over £100m over the last 10 years on infrastructure projects, we will now accelerate the process of planning much more significant investment and upgrades to the stadium.”

“We want this club to always be successful and win trophies. To compete for trophies requires significant investment. The commercial growth at the club has helped deliver the revenue which ultimately underpins that investment in a sustainable manner.” stated Glazer, as he reflected that their final motive is the clubs betterment.

“As owners, we want exactly the same thing as the fans – a successful team and a strong club – and we want to work in partnership to achieve those objectives.” Glazer added.

Glazer also told of upliftment in the fans’ status, with a new advisory board and fans scheme in vision; “Fans are the lifeblood of Manchester United and I am personally committed to ensuring that they are given an enhanced voice, through the creation of a Fan Advisory Board and a Fan Share Scheme.”

“The club has been in discussions with must regarding a fan share scheme for a number of months and has already sought external legal advice on options. Discussions will now intensify, with the aim of agreeing a plan before the start of the new season.” told Glazer, as he concluded with some plans for the Carrington training facility improvement and growth of the United Womens’ team.
