Manchester United have not had the season they were expecting this year in the Premier League. The Red Devils are 7th in the league and are almost 20 points below their next door neighbours Manchester City, who are on top.

Many pundits, journalists and fans expected Manchester United to be challenging for the title along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. But things just haven’t gone their way since November. The Red Devils have lost more games this season than they did last season at the same point.

Most of the fans thought that the Red Devils will be challenging for the Premier League after signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the summer. But things just haven’t gone their way. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November after a series of disappointing results and was replaced by interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Many thought Rangnick would bring in stability and there would be a wave of positive results after his appointment, but it just hasn’t worked out for the German manager and many fans are calling him out. Manchester United lost their previous game against Wolves 1-0 at home and were left outside the top 4 for the time being.

After the shocking defeat to Wolves last time out, Manchester United were under heavy scrutiny from the English media and the fans. There were multiple new rumours and reports regarding the Red Devils suggesting that the players are unhappy with the current manager and his tactics.

According to the Daily Mail, it was suggested that almost 17 players were unhappy with the direction the club was heading into and that 11 players wanted to leave the club. Fans suspected that a few of those players might have been Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.

Ralf Rangnick confirmed in his recent press conference that Anthony Martial has asked to leave the club. But there was a report involving Fred’s name saying that the Brazilian midfielder has asked to leave the club as he is not entirely content at the club. Many fans were shocked after hearing this as Fred is nearing his final year of his contract.

However, Fred has opened up on the fake rumours about him leaving the club and has hit out the english media by calling them out specifically. The Brazilian international has come out defending his team-mates and has said all the reports involving him and the Red Devils are fake.

Fred’s tweet stated,” Over the past few days I have read several fake news involving my name and other Manchester United athletes. I’m not in the habit of answering controversial stuff publicly, but this time I will have to.”

The Brazilian added,” I just want to say that I am very happy here and I have never expressed any dissatisfaction and the possibility of leaving the club. Don’t get misled by fake news. We will continue to work with great dedication to pursue our goals.”
