Netherlands Vs Austria Player Ratings

Netherlands became the first from group C and the third team overall to secure a qualification berth for the knockout rounds of this summer’s Euro 2020, after edging Austria for a 2-0 win. Netherlands went ahead when Alaba fouled Denzel Dumbfries in the box for a penalty, with Memphis Depay coolly slotting the set piece to give the Dutch a 1-0 lead at the 11th minute mark. Though the Oranje kept in pushing, they couldn’t find another in the first half. Austria looked the better team in the second half, playing with far more composure but couldn’t create the required chances and Denzel Dumbfries eventually sealed the win for the Dutch, which saw them qualify for the Round of 16.

An overall excellent performance from the midfield maestro. Did everything from carrying the ball forward with the beautiful runs, skipping through challenges and winning fifty-fifty balls. Everywhere on the pitch.

Memphis Depay – 7.5/10

Depay

Scored the penalty early on to put his team ahead. Didn’t look in his usual best as he missed some chances to double the lead, though he did work hard in the final third.
