Former Real Madrid and Barcelona captains to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia: Reports
Sergio Ramos and Sergio Busquets are on target list of Al-Nassr
After signing the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, Saudi Arabia club Al-Nassr is eyeing to sign FC Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets. The Spaniard has been offered a mammoth deal to join Al-Nassr ahead of the January transfer window, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo. Recently, another report came that the Saudi club is eyeing to sign Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos as well.
Al Nassr is hoping to land Busquets this winter and pair him up with Cristiano Ronaldo, following the Portuguese icon’s exit from Premier League club Manchester United. The Saudi side is keen on bringing in a top midfield maestro and is now eyeing another blockbuster signing in form of Busquets.
Interestingly, there is a hint of some Barcelona connection as well. Al-Nassr’s sports director is Goran Vucevic, who played for FC Barcelona B. He made his first team debut under the vision of great Johan Cruff and has also worked in the Catalan club’s scouting department.

Al Nassr has offered Busquets a juicy deal but the Spanish midfielder “does not seem to be up for the task of moving to Saudi Arabia” for now. Maybe, Busquets thinks he still has a lot to offer to the La Liga giants.
Ronaldo becomes highest-paid footballer with Al Nassr deal
Star forward Cristiano Ronaldo is now the highest-paid footballer in history as he signed a two-year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. The club announced the signing on Friday (December 30) and the 37-year-old will receive $75 million per year, making him the highest-paid footballer in history.
“History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation, and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home,” the Saudi club wrote welcoming Ronaldo.
“I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country,” Ronaldo said in Al-Nassr’s statement announcing the deal as quoted by ESPN. Ronaldo can face long-time rival Lionel Messi in January 2023 as PSG is set to travel to Saudi Arabia for a friendly match.
