Later, Karim Benzema was set to return to the national squad to play in the finals of the FIFA World Cup after recovering from his injury. However, French coach Didier Deschamps announced that the Real Madrid star would not feature in the finals raising questions about troubles in the team. It was reported that few players in the French team were happy about Karim Benzema’s absence in the 2022 FIFA World Cup including Antoine Griezmann.
