Two new allegations of assault emerge against Manchester United’s Antony among ongoing investigation

Brazil and Manchester United star, Antony has recently come under allegations of violence and assault against his former partner Gabriela Cavallin. Following the alleged incident, Antony was dropped from the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break. So far the player has denied all the accusations.
While the initial allegation has not even gone old, new allegations have surfaced from two women against the 23-year-old. They claim that the Manchester United forward physically abused them. Investigations are already led by Manchester and Sao Paulo police for the allegations made by Cavallin. Now, the forward will now have to answer to the new accusations.
Rayssa de Freitas, a student of law, claimed that Antony left her injured after being attacked by the player in his car in Sao Paulo. Along with him, she also accused the ex-wife of Dudu (a Brazilian player) of assault. Another woman, Ingrid Lana, claims that the Man United forward was violent towards her back in October. In an interview with the Brazilian media outlet Record TV, she said that the player pushed her after she refused to have s*x with him that hit her head.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian national team has removed Antony from their lineup, to“safeguard” the alleged victim and the player. But Manchester United are yet to take any action on their £85 million winger.
Even though the club has released a statement“acknowledging” the accusations made against their player they will face pressure to act against the player if the allegations are proven to be true. After the controversial exit of Mason Greenwood, Antony is the latest Man Utd player to come under media pressure on similar grounds.
Erik ten Hag to use THIS star in place of Antony
Erik ten Hag will have to start thinking of potential replacements at right wing. Antony has made 4 out of 4 starts for the Red Devils so far, even though he has not provided any goals or assists. Amidst allegations of assault and s*xual coercion, the player is set to face backlash on social media and from fans. While the CBF has already suspended the player until further notice. Manchester United’s suspension may not be far off.
After making the move to Old Trafford on deadline day, Sofyan Amrabat will be keen to establish his place in midfield. This means new signing Mason Mount is set to fight even harder for his place in the starting XI.
However, Mason Mount is likely to make an appearance on the right. With ongoing investigations involving Antony and the allegations against him, ten Hag might look to Mount to fill in as a right winger.
