Declan Rice to Arsenal has been dubbed by many to be one of the transfers of the season. The 24-year-old English defender has had a brilliant start to life at the Emirates. However, German Champions Bayern Munich was the frontrunner in bringing the player to the club. However, Arsenal acquired the player’s services. Rice joined the Gunners on a £105 million fee.

Bayern President Herbert Rainer said that there was heavy interest from the club to sign the player. However, the price tag set by West Ham proved to be too high for the club.“Given our financial possibilities, we had to set other priorities,” President Rainer said. Rice joined Arsenal as their most expensive player. Meanwhile, Bayern signed Konrad Laimer on a free transfer from RB Leipzig.

Thomas Tuchel said, “The mood is good, the mentality is right.” Tuchel admitted that winning on Saturday would be difficult. However, his side is set to “turn the tables” and continue their winning form. Bayern will be without Manuel Neuer. He recently joined ‘parts’ of first-team training after a skiing injury. Ex-Leipzig player Konrad Laimer will be in the line-up to face his former club.

Dayot Upamecano, Thomas Müller, and Serge Gnabry all missed the game on Wednesday. However, reports suggest that they are ready to face Leipzig. The home side will be without Timo Werner and Dani Olmo.
