Bayern Munich squad was split on Julian Nagelsmann sacking as these key stars wanted him to stay: Reports
The Bayern Munich squad has distinct judgements after sacking of Julian Nagelsmann
Bayern Munich surprised the football world after sacking their coach Julian Nagelsmann despite being in the title race just one point off rivals Borussia Dortmund and qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals. There are remarks that the German coach has been treated unfairly. There is apparently a split in the Bayern Munich dressing room over the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann as the club’s manager.
The Bayern dressing room has been split into two factions with one who backed the decision of the club and the other who sided with Nagelsmann. While Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, Joao Cancelo and Sadio Mane were against the manager, players like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard wanted the 35-year-old to stay.
The manager’s sacking was largely due to Bayern‘s recent run of poor form in the Bundesliga as they had won just five times in their last 10 games. Nagelsmann has been tipped to replace the recently-deposed Tottenham boss Antonio Conte. The newly appointed Tuchel’s first test will be against former club Borussia Dortmund when the two clubs meet in Bundesliga on April 1.
Nagelsmann was on a skiing trip in the Austrian Zillertal, enjoying the international break with his 30-year-old girlfriend Lena Wurzenberger, when he learned of his imminent sacking. He raced back to Bavaria after cutting short his skiing holiday, where he then discovered his fate. His latest match with the Bavarians was a 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Julian Nagelsmann will only take the Tottenham job on one condition
Julian Nagelsmann may only take charge at Tottenham if they qualify for next season’s Champions League, according to reports. Spurs confirmed the sacking of Antonio Conte on Sunday with his ex-assistant Christian Stellini and first-team coach Ryan Mason taking charge until the end of the season. He is Tottenham’s first-choice managerial candidate ahead of Mauricio Pochettino. The news is believed to be welcomed by Spurs talisman Harry Kane who could be tempted to stay at the club if the German is appointed after speculations of him leaving.
The German is renowned for developing younger players and playing an exciting brand of football which would fit the Spurs philosophy after Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino did the same during his stint in which they finished second in the Premier League and reached the Champions League final where they lost to Liverpool. Harry Kane is one of the academy prospects and has developed into one of the best.
Spurs haven’t exactly been a stable club since Mauricio Pochettino was sacked back in 2019. They’ve hired three permanent managers Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espirito Santo with none of them lasting a full season in charge and the recent sacking of Conte. They hope to overturn their fortunes if they are to appoint the German.
