Abouk has been with Hakimi for five years, and they have been married for the past three years. They have two children together but are in the process of divorcing. At the time of the alleged rape, the couple were already separated. She also referenced the “pain” and “grief” she experienced due to the separation and the failure of a family project to which she had given her body and soul.

“The reality is that a while ago, after a lot of reflection, the father of my children and I made the decision to end our relationship, long before the recent media events that have involved me, which are totally external. One must trust the legal process, especially considering the gravity of the accusation. Nonetheless, in my life, I always have been, and always will be, on the side of victims”, she added.

The player is now currently under investigation with support from family and club both believing in his innocence whilst the player himself denies all accusations with his lawyer claiming, “The accusations are false. He is calm and is making himself available to the authorities.” Further developments are yet to continue with the authorities restricting any type of contact with the victim while allowing him to leave the country.

Achraf Hakimi is currently one of the best right-backs in the world playing for the French giants PSG and leading Morocco to the semifinals of the World Cup, being the first African nation to do so. His pace and attacking work rates are some of his top traits and doesn’t shy away from the defensive side either making him a nightmare for the opposition.

He joined Real Madrid as an eight-year-old in 2006, progressing with their Castilla side before making his first-team debut under Zinedine Zidane in 2017. “One day my father picked me up from school and gave me a letter inviting me to a trial session at Real. At first, I couldn’t believe it and asked him if the letter was really real. After he confirmed it, I just thought: ‘Oh my God, how cool is that?!’ I’ll never forget this day, it all started for me.” But with Dani Carvajal blocking his path to regular first-team football he left on loan for Borussia Dortmund in 2018 winning the DFL Supercup.

He then signed with Serie A side Inter Milan for a reported fee of €40 million, helping the club win the 2020–21 Scudetto, their first in 11 years. Paris Saint-Germain then signed him in 2021 for a reported fee of €60 million. Hakimi was capped by Morocco at the under-20 level, before making his senior international debut in 2016 aged 17. He was chosen in Morocco’s squads for the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022, and the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 and 2021.
