Cristiano Ronaldo could return to the Premier League again amidst rumors of Al Nassr exit

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo might be on the move again as reports surfaced of him moving back to England one last time to join another United, Newcastle United. Just six months after controversially joining Al Nassr on a huge $175 million deal for two and half years, his link to a move back to the Premier League is raising eyebrows.

According to a report by DailyMail, the former Real Madrid man is one of the top targets for Eddie Howe’s side. It also claims that the club’s Middle-Eastern owners are also going to hand him a huge budget to land the deal. However, the Magpies’ chief has discarded the rumors saying, “We wish Cristiano all the best but there’s no truth in that from our perspective.”

Ronaldo has been linked to multiple clubs in the past couple of weeks, just six months after acrimoniously ending his ties with Manchester United and European football. Ronaldo has seen regular gametime at Riyadh and has scored 12 goals in as many games in the Saudi Pro League. His team is second in the league table behind Al Ittihad have played one game more.

Despite having the stats behind him, Ronaldo has not been unanimously liked by the Al Nassr faithful. His team crashed out of the King’s Cup last month with Ronaldo unable to inspire a win. They have also lost crucial encounters against rivals Al Ittihad, garnering much criticism.

Apart from his professional career, Ronaldo has also been going through a tough time in his family as well. After losing their son earlier this year, Ronaldo and Georgina were spotted in the hospital earlier on Tuesday. Sources revealed that their daughter is also having surgery. Ronaldo’s relationship with Georgina has also been the subject of much speculation.

In a season of possible homecomings, Ronaldo might also return to Real Madrid as Barcelona continue to get linked with Lionel Messi. Spanish outlet Nacional said, “Florentino Perez has guaranteed that [Ronaldo] will not lack work at the Santiago Bernabeu. But, obviously, he wouldn’t do it to be a player, because he considers that it is a cycle that should be considered closed.”

However, looking at the player’s hunger for games and goals, it doesn’t look like the move to Madrid is probable. Ronaldo, apparently, also has offers from the MLS. It will be interesting to see where he will end up by next season.
