Cristiano Ronaldo officially signs $75 million-per-year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr: Reports

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with Al Nassr for more than a month now.

A lot of fuss was generated by Cristiano Ronaldo when he decided to end his love story with his boyhood club Manchester United through a brutal controversial interview with Piers Morgan. It left the club no choice but to terminate his contract with them and ever since then Ronaldo was a free agent. He was never really linked with any of the top European clubs with Chelsea being the only name coming up once in a while.

But amidst the World Cup, a rumor arose that Al Nassr has finally reached terms with the five-time Ballon d’Or but the confirmation was not present. But recently, according to CBS Sports, the deal is set to be complete with Ronaldo signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club side Al Nassr. The club is set to announce the deal after their away game against Al Khaleej on Saturday.

Is it the end for the great Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of European football?

Manchester United will be Cristiano Ronaldo’s final European stint?

CBS Sports was the first one to report about the $75 million a year deal way back in November lining Ronaldo to the Suadi Arabian club but the Portuguese was still on his search for a major European club. Ronaldo even denied the rumors as fake in a World Cup game when a fan asked him while he was walking by but since then no European team was interested in the striker as he didn’t have a very good World Cup tournament in Qatar.

As things stand, Manchester United would be the final European club that the legend of the sport played at, and having come to the end of this illustrious career, it is wise to set himself to a much less competitive league. Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t have a good World Cup having been knocked out of the tournament at the quarter-finals at the hands of Morocco and having scored just one penalty goal the entire campaign, it was always going to be tough for him to find a club in Europe.

Ronaldo was already looking to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window for the club’s non-involvement in the UEFA Champions League but have failed to find a proper club, he returned to Old Trafford. But after receiving very less game time, he ended his career at United in a very bad way but the chances for him to get another top European club were very slim.
