“Don’t change anything”- Neymar throws his support behind Manchester United star after showboating backlash

Brazil and PSG star Neymar have recently posted a tweet in support of his countrymen Antony after the winger faced a lot of criticism regarding his showboating and necessary skill during a Europa League match last week. Antony was brought in this summer from Ajax to increase the attacking possibilities for the team and has since then been a fan favorite.
He performed his signature 360-degree spin move during the first half of the match and then kicked the ball out of play which angered the manager a lot in the game against Sheriff Tiraspol. A lot of Manchester United legends such as Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage were after him and labeled him as a ‘clown’ and that the player should have been ‘dragged’ off the pitch for doing such a thing.
Erik ten Hag then went on to substitute Antony after half-time and also spoke to the media that the change was not at all due to his unnecessary showboating skills but to change the style of play. Several of his Brazilian teammates rose in support of him and asked him not to stop and keep the Brazilian style of play alive.
What did Neymar and Fred have to say about their teammate’s showboating skills?

Neymar took to social media and said, “Keep it up, don’t change anything! Go for it boy! Boldness and joy.” United midfielder Fred also supported his friend by going against the comments of Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage saying, “It’s very annoying that they want to say that. I think it starts with us being Brazilians. Brazilians have quality in their blood.”
He added, “It’s always been that way since Pele, to have quality, to dribble, to score, to dance, to smile. So I think people have to understand this aspect that we have. So it wasn’t offensive to anyone what he did. Of course, if it’s offensive, we’ll come to him in the dressing room and talk. But it was not offensive to anyone. It’s his game. I think he has to keep doing it.”
