Manchester City finished last season as the champions of Europe, the Premier League champions as well as the FA Cup. To commemorate the historic feat, the club organized a Treble Trophy Tour across the globe, with celebrations still underway. Videos reveal the Empire State Building in New York lit up in the majestic City Blue.
A post made by the Empire State Building shows the building in its complete glory. An aerial view of the building shows the entire top portion lit up in blue. Portrayed against the immaculate New York skyline, the image paints a beautiful spectacle. The post was captioned;
Turning the skies electric blue tonight in celebration of Man City's Treble Trophy Tour.
The Treble Trophy Tour has been halfway around the globe, hitting countries like Japan, Korea, China, the United Kingdom, India, and the UAE. Upcoming destinations include the United States from 1st to 10th December, Brazil in January, and Argentina afterward. As per the club website, The USA will host the Cityzens in New York City, San Francisco, and Washington DC.
Manchester City set to face Luton Town after ‘punch in the face’
Manchester City were thoroughly beaten in their last outing in the Premier League. Unai Emery and co. dismantled a ‘clueless’ City side 1-0, who only made 2 shots throughout the game. An honest Pep Guardiola said that the “better team won” and that they (Aston Villa) were brilliant. However, the tactician admitted that at times, you need a “punch in the face to see how you react”.
Manchester City are winless in their last 4 games in the league and their desire to win a 4th consecutive title is truly being tested. Luton Town are no easy side to face as revealed by their performances against Liverpool and Arsenal. As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola said that he will not tolerate claims of his team being “complacent;
I have never found a player that wants to play bad and not want to do good for the team when playing in front of 60,000 people.
City take on Luton Town on Sunday at Kenilworth Road. Rodri returns to a ‘depleted’ midfield which lacked Kevin De Bruyne as well. The Spaniard has been crucial to Pep Guardiola’s midfield, and his return will help fans and teammates breathe a sigh of relief. The Citizens are now 4th in the Premier League and 7 points away from the top spot, even though they have a game in hand.
