“I am not a right-wing skinhead”- England fan ‘Tango Man’ apologizes after going topless at 2022 FIFA World Cup

England’s one of the most famous superfans who is well known for going topless during big fixtures revealing his tattooed torso has apologized after he faced trouble at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup when he took his shirt off during the clash between England and Wales. The superfan we all know is Paul Gregory who was confronted by the officials during the match followed by a warning that he might get kicked out of the stadium.
The man was warned as exposing body parts is considered a taboo in the Muslim conservative mindset that the Gulf country follows, which in some cases can even lead to the arrest of the person violating the rule. Although the man later apologized for his actions, he also mentioned that at half-time even the security personnel were interested in getting a selfie clicked with him. “I didn’t mean to show disrespect to anybody,” said Paul Gregory.
“I have realized that taking my shirt off, and showing my body in public, might be offensive to local rules, so I had no intention of doing that. I’m really sorry if it offended any Qataris,” said the Tango Man in his apology. Despite being warned by security officials in the stadium he revealed that they too were happy to see the funny side of the story which is definitely his well-rounded physique. The man also cleared his position, “I am not a right-wing skinhead. I love football and having fun with other supporters. It is as simple as that.”
He further added, “When I went to the loo at half-time some of the security officials, asked me to take my shirt off again and do selfies with me, which was quite funny.” The Tango Man went harmless from the stadium and explained that there was no issue whatsoever in agreeing to the rules and regulations that were imposed. The man also mentioned England‘s emphatic win over Wales and said that he’s quite assured of their quarterfinals hopes in the campaign with his performance.
