Erling Haaland has dropped his EAFC 24 Ultimate Team and there are a few surprising absentees. The Manchester City forward recently took to social media, as he posted an image of his ‘Ultimate Team’. A quick look at the player’s bench features Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario and a bunch of other ‘greats’ who failed to make it to his starting XI.

More surprisingly, Haaland has chosen his 85-rated cousin, Jonatan Brunes as his replacement. The Man City star also dropped Cristiano Ronaldo from the starting line-up, while there is no Lionel Messi in his squad. Another surprising inclusion in his squad is PSG star Kylian Mbappe on the right wing. The player has picked himself alongside his cousin Jonatan Brunes upfront to score the goals.

In a hilarious apology, the Norwegian striker has asked for the striker’s forgiveness. “Sorry @ronaldo have to drop you for my cousin @jonatanbrunes” penned the treble-winner.

Haaland has gone for a formation of 4-4-2, with Roberto Carlos, Eder Militao, Virgil van Dijk, and Kyle Walker comprising the back four. Yaya Touré, Ruud Gullit, Ronaldinho Gaucho, and Kylian Mbappe make up the midfield for Haaland’s team.

His team is so ‘packed’ that even Brazilian legend Pelé failed to make his starting XI. Vinicius Jr. and Rooney were other players that failed to make the team.

Manchester City set to face Luton Town amidst star player’s absence

Manchester City return to action in the Premier League against Luton Town on Sunday. The defending champions were thoroughly beaten at Villa Park on Thursday and will look to get back to winning ways. Man City midfielder Rodri returns to action against The Hatters. The defending champions dearly missed the Spaniard in midfield as they were visibly outplayed by Unai Emery‘s men in midfield.

England International Jack Grealish also makes a return after serving his suspension against Aston Villa. The #10 picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, and was forced to sit out the Aston Villa game. Rodri’s return offers a monumental sigh of relief, as the club are yet to win a game the midfielder has missed out on. Jeremy Doku missed the game against Villa, so the fixture against Luton may offer a chance for Grealish to reclaim his spot in the starting line-up.

Erling Haaland on the other hand, is rumored to be ‘unavailable’ for City’s next game. The news which is yet to be confirmed does not state whether the player is absent due to injury or for other reasons. Kevin De Bruyne’s return is off the cards for the moment, as even the Club World Cup may come “too soon” for the Belgian, according to Pep Guardiola.
