Manchester City’s ace striker reveals frustration watching his team play last season. Erling Haaland has taken over the Premier League by storm. He has scored 52 goals in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side. He has been a key member behind their win and the FA Cup triumph. The Norwegian goal machine broke the league goalscoring record in his debut season, notching 36 goals.

While appearing in a conversation with Rio Ferdinand, the striker revealed his frustration at watching City play last season. Haaland was a part of the Dortmund squad the previous season. He also claimed he enjoys his role as a poacher in the city setup. He claimed pride in making short-range finishes and admitted he is glad to help out the City attack.

Haaland said: “It’s a good thing to be good at tapping balls in. Last season, I watched so many times when crosses would go through the whole box and no-one was there. I was imagining myself being there and thinking I’d slide that in. I was thinking of that when I came here. I’m not the one that’s going to create chances but I have my role in the team. And that’s this (tap-ins). My job is to help the team put the ball in the back of the net.”

There is usual criticism by rival fans that Haaland plays by drifting between the last defenders and usually scores easy goals. However, the star striker’s comments show that he is unfazed by these criticisms. Instead, Haaland takes up the title of scoring tap-ins and revels in it. The Golden Boot-winning striker realizes the importance of his role in the setup and looks set to contribute more goals for the City outfit.

Erling Haaland says he is fully focused to help Manchester City win the champions league. The Norwegian striker says he was brought by City and Pep Guardiola explicitly to win the champions league. The premier league player of the season also expressed his love for the Champions League.

Ahead of the clash between Inter Milan and Manchester City for Champion League glory, City’s stalwart Haaland revealed more about his move to the Blue side of Manchester. “City won the Premier League two times in a row, for example, before I came here – they know how to win the Premier League,” quoted Haaland. “The only thing they miss is the Champions League so you can think and read between the words and the lines. I am coming here for a reason.” He further added.

Erling Haaland’s love for the champions league is also well-known. His keeping the Champions League anthem as his alarm tune was revealed early in his career. He further expressed his desire to win. He said: “I’ve been dreaming of winning the Champions League for as long as I can remember. It was 2008, Chelsea v United and when I saw the celebrations, I wanted to do that as well.”

Haaland would look forward to scoring in the coming final against Inter Milan to add to his tally of 35 UCL goals. He would look to complete the season by winning the treble by claiming the champions league throne.
